Popular Cardio Method

The most popular method of doing cardio is at consistent pace for a long period of time to try and lose belly fat. Most people's goal is to get their heart rate up and burn calories. It has been shown that getting the heart rate up to 65 to 80 percent of your maximum is an optimum zone to use fat as energy while you work out.

Not So Popular Cardio Method (Yet)

High Intensity Interval Training isn't as popular as just doing regular cardio, but it seems to be much more effective at burning calories in a shorter period of time. HIIT basically means alternating high and low intensities throughout your cardio workout. A typical HIIT workout might be sprinting for one minute than walking for one minute doing this for about 10-15 minutes.

Burn Calories for Hours After

High Intensity Interval Training allows your body to burn calories for up to 24 hours after your workout! HIIT will increase the level of HGH that your body produces on its own. HGH is a hormone in your body that will burn off body fat like crazy. If you can find a way to increase the natural levels of HGH in your body, you will get as lean as you desire! Interval Training is the way to do exactly that.

Create a Calorie Deficit

HIIT is done correctly will not only burn calories for hours but will also create a large calorie deficit. The deficit is actually what causes you to lose the pounds as your body will be forced to use up the energy it as stored. Since belly fat is the human bodies stored energy source HIIT will help you shed the fat in pounds. An intense workout using HIIT will raise your metabolism hours after the workout allowing the body to burn more calories than with regular cardio.
